Living a Life-y Life

Choice.  Change.  Courage.

Image

Here’s my question for the week:

Live a life of order, dependability, safety and culturally pre-defined pathways to success?

OR

Live the one, true, wild, strange, beautiful, magical, ever challenging, continuously learning, co-creative and constantly emergent dance of the life spirit intends for you?  A life lived in accord with the magic, chaos and order of life itself?

Uh… I don’t know…

I choose door number two.

YOU?

Who’s life are you living?

Are you living the status quo or the rich and wild intelligence of life as it flows uniquely through you?

Are you willing to confess the ways in which you are out of integrity with your values or your soul’s wisdom or your truest dreams?

Are you willing to RISK the life you prayed for?

What will happen if you don’t?

I live with these questions as constant companions.  I care to live my life in integrity with my soul and with life itself.

There are infinite voices – subtle, ubiquitous, highly programed messages – that tug constantly at the subconscious trying to get us live the status quo, to sell us on some one else’s version of a fulfilling life, to convince us that meaning and value are to be found somewhere other than our homes, our hearts, our hearths – in screens and text windows and the measure of bank accounts.  We are surrounded by a deadening technological pulse of mass culture perpetuating  the desire engines of capitalism, splitting us from our simple, earthly, sensate connections with the very life-y life of life.  But, these voices don’t speak for soul… they don’t represent the deeper intelligence of life.  Business as usual generally doesn’t cause happiness, nor does it empower the soul, nor is it at all sustainable, let alone regenerative or full-bodied joyful.

I, for one, am incapable of feeling at all comfortable in in my skin in a “business as usual” life.

So, I choose to follow soul, spirit and the inseparability of my dance with the larger pulse and intelligence of life.  I do my best to listen and respond – to create my days as an offering and a prayer for joy, for truth and for the wholeness and continuity of the One Great Life.

This almost always causes change.

It always takes courage – more than I think I have.

Anything other than this leaves me feeling deadened and flat.

And you?

Are you living “business as usual?”  Or, are you choosing?  Allowing the change?  Breathing in courage?

It’s chooser’s choice all the time.   No time like the present.

Make the prayer.

Live a life-y life.

This is my way of being home in the journey, and of coming home by being true to my self.

It’s not about easy.

It’s about honest.

It promises a life you can walk in – in your own skin – in the body you’ve been given and the unique gifts of your soul – in service and in harmony with life.

Love,

Samantha

Life Runs On Love

ImageI’ve been in a cycle of awe and rebellion.

Awe at the incredible grace, love, beauty, wisdom and creativity of my fellow humans.

Rebellion against the radical sickness we humans buy into in the form of systems, structures and behavioral norms we take for granted and inhabit unconsciously as though they were the way nature intended it.

Particularly, I’ve spent heaps of times the last 6 months seeking to do my business “the grown up way.”  I’ve schooled myself on accounting, target marketing, business planning, time management, leadership strategy and SEO.  I’ve sought the advice of colleagues who have had far greater success than I in scaling their offering and services.  I’ve done detailed coaching for myself and my organization with old high school and collage friends who now run global organizations.  And…  I’ve gotta say, to my own credit, I’m pretty good at this shit.

But… at the end of the day, I can’t say I’m any happier or more successful for it.

In fact, in the last few days, I’ve had some pretty serious meltdown-y emotions and needed to do a lot of bitching because, really… I feel totally itchy, constricted and creatively constipated when I work this way.  And, I’m no more productive or efficient.  If anything, I’m effective at achieving things in a linear way, but they totally lack magic.  Working like this is antithetical to my intuition and the organic chaos-in-order that is the natural signature of true beauty.

My soul’s in rebellion.

What I’ve discovered:

The only path that really works for me is an organic and intuitive path of love – a constant meditation and motion in life flow –  a following of what love wants.

Today, I’m super present to this:

Life runs on love.

It doesn’t run on SAP or Google or Chrome.  It can’t be found in the Cloud.  It can’t be sprouted out of anyone’s head – no matter how brilliant.   It’s not interested in scalability,

Life runs on love.  It runs on the sticky, juicy, touch, feely, wiggly, wondrous, refined and magical, mysterious and unpackageable, je ne se quoi, everybody wants it/no one really knows what it is THING we call love.

My business runs on love.

My meetings run on love.

My relationships, when they are working, run on 144% pure love.

I’m not saying this because I pretend to know what love is.  The moment you try to define it, it slides like sand between your grasping fingers.  But, these hands do know a few things about letting go… I do know a thing or two about feeling love, living it, trusting it, and being it.

This is enough.

From today.  I rededicate my life, my business and my relationships to being sourced and resourced from here.  It seems to be my recipe for optimal performance.  It’s not an easy, step-by-step formula.  It’s individual and subjective.  It’s up to me to do it my way.  It’s up to you to do it yours.  It’s a good way to live.

Let’s see what happens.

Wanna come?

Love,

Finding Clarity

Image

Find clarity in the full spectrum of your life.

My litte overwhelm…

Two days ago, I found myself desperately praying for clarity.  I was so overwhelmed with what felt like too much to do, too much to hold, too many responsibilities and too little time.  I was literally immobilized.  (Sound familiar?)  Compounding this, I simply could not hold the vast feeling of unknowing surrounding every aspect of my life, work and relationships – everything up for constant redevelopment and shift – EVERYTHING evolving – CONSTANTLY.  The temptation to drown in the quicksand was huge!

I am in a place in my life where I have manifested and exceeded just about every dream I have ever had. Community, partner, business, opportunity, great health, good friends, global projects to change the world… all happening now. And, it’s all pretty whelming at times. My businesses has grown beyond my capacity to manage it alone, so I now have a whole organization working with me. My partnership is ever evolving – a home beyond definition – which is the deepest invitation I have ever lived to love truly and fully in the way of God – and which is totally terrifying at times. The global projects I’m working on are high-stakes and high risk and require both an expanded level of vigilance and presence and a very mature level of compassion and surrender.

Mostly, I love it…  but, sometimes lately, I’ve been totally stressed out.

It’s been really interesting to see what I do.  (I kinda think of myself as my own private social experiment.) I’ve been taking that frustration and anger and all the stuck and small feelings to God. Sometimes, I’ve been raging in my prayers.  Like, “WTF, GOD?  What’s this all about?”

God just laughs and smiles and says, “It’s for you.”

And, being a human being, sometimes I’ve gotten madder.  (Anger is so predictable.)

But, by two days ago, I was just done being upset. I was just done arguing (which never works). So, I took a desperate prayer to god.

“Please god, give me clarity.  Give me peace.  I need your help.  I need it now.”

What happened quietly startled me.

Instead of new information, I was gifted silence.  Instead of visions of futures and projects, I was given presence.  Instead of the clarity I have known before of guidance and direction, I WAS GIVEN PEACE.

Today, I am living the way.  I am un-overwhelmed.  I am at peace.  And, somehow, easily, without effort, the path forward, one step at a time, is reveling its self as one of clarity and grace.

So, what I want to say to YOU, today, is this:

Make a prayer to clean the slate, clear the clutter, open your heart and free your mind.  If you are overwhelmed, and I know you sometimes are, do what you need to do to open this space for grace. Dance, sing, meditate, go to nature, have a really good sweat, get yourself to a ceremony…. whatever it is. I promise, the silence is worth as much or more than the infinite space it contains.

Thank you, God!  Much love! ~s.s.

Travelogue: 8 Lessons in Unconditional Love

"LOVE" at Water Woman FestivalLessons In Unconditional Love:

Travelling is learning.  Whenever we venture into foreign lands, some part of us wants to grow.  We want to expand our horizons, test our edges, and experience greater unity with our global human family.  Sometimes this connection comes in obvious ways – in a smile, a kind gesture, in the convergence of a pod of people standing together in awe of a rainbow or a sunset or a soaring bird, in the laughter or tears of a child, in something given, in something received.

In my experience, this learning rarely comes in the ways I expect…  Human beings are preferential creatures.  I, like just about everyone, am a creature of habit.  We gravitate towards what is comfortable and easy.  But, travel can be testing.  It’s a shake-up of the norm.  Growth often comes when I don’t get what I thought I wanted or intended – when a bus gets delayed for 5 hours in the heat of an Indian afternoon, or the tickets to Machu Pichu are sold out, or I get stuck in the Brazilian jungle for an extra week with two strangers and a misanthropic Royal Parrot named Ed.  I find that, if I allow space in my heart for the bumps and the kinks, I always get what I need to soften and open more fully to love.

I’ve been travelling in South and Central America for two months, now.  I’m saturated in the colors, flavors, smells of this land of mysterious and diverse cultures and climes.  Like a stone in the river of life, my edges have been polished by the rolling, sometimes disjointed, rhythm of constant movement.  I started this trip in the windswept Sacred Valley of Vilabamba, Ecuador, then headed North up to the technicolor lakes, jungle volcanoes and tribal textiles of Guatemala, Belize and Southern Mexico for a 20 day tour of the Mayan Heartland and a week at Lago Atitlan.  Then, I flew back down to Peru, where I am now, high in the mountains above Cusco, at over 11,500 feet above sea level (wow!).  I’m travelling with a Peruvian friend and staying at the home of one of his mentors and teachers.  We are living life en Español… a language I’ve never studied and am only now beginning to stutter into.  What a challenge.  What an opportunity – an opportunity to let go of all my ideas about what I think love and loving is and to live more quietly and wholly into something real and practical and responsive – something I recognized this morning as unconditional love.  It’s really ridiculously simple… and very worth taking note.

Given that we are, by nature, preferential beings.  It seems to me that living unconditionally is about shaping my preferences according to the natural patterns of unconditionality.  God, I love paradox!

8 Keys to Living Unconditional Love:

1.) Love who you are with.

The person or people in front of you are your opportunity to love.  Period.  Right now, there is no one else with whom to give and receive that mysterious currency called love.  So, turn towards who ever you are with and give them your eyes, your awareness, your listening, your curiosity and compassion and see what happens.  You don’t always get to choose your company, but you always get to choose how you attend to and respond to them.

2.) Let love be it’s own language.

Giving and receiving requires no words.  Presence requires no language.  Gestures form a complete language.  And, in the absence of language, it is easy to feel the heart.  It’s as simple as a smile, a gaze, a giggle, an exhale in the face of stress.  Let it be light.  Let it flow.  It will grow!

3.) Learning is a way of loving.

Whether traveling internationally or connecting with a new friend or lover in your hometown… everyone has a different language of love.  We ALL want to connect, to share, to understand and be understood, and we all do this differently.  So, love motivates us to learn how to observe and to communicate.  It’s really helpful to learn the language and customs of our new friends so that we can more fully understand and be understood, give and receive.  And, regardless of shared language, we can observe the habits of another with curiosity and respect to discover the non-verbal and gestural language beneath language.  We can also ASK QUESTIONS.  With observation, communication and questions, we can respond more coherently to our friends day by day.  Love invites us to rest into observation and learning BEFORE imposing our own ideas, opinions and preferences on a person, a people and a place.

4.) Love is a stillness.

Sometimes there is nothing to do.  Have you ever noticed those old couples who sit together in easy silence?  Non-doing is a place where shared peace, contentment, presence and delight are available.  Chill out.  As an American, I can be rather obsessed with optimal experience, with getting somewhere and gettingh things done.  In these South American (and many indigenous cultures) the value of not doing is penultimate.  People value relaxation and enjoying the moment above achievement and efficiency.  This can really confront the ego program that says “I am valuable because I achieve.”  Yeah!  By sitting still… we simply are OK.  Tranquillo….

5.) Love waits.

“Patience, my love.”  In the absence of shared language, we have to be patient with our selves and our companions.  Relaxed, patient presence is one of the greatest things we can give or receive.  It takes time to look up that one key word in the dictionary… it’s worth it.  The greatest suffering when travelling generally arises through our impatience, the frustration of not being able to communicate or immediately get what we want, and the shame that we don’t have all the answers.  Travelling sometimes implies the bumpy process of communicating at the level of a 5 year old.  It implies letting other people do things for you, which means not being in control.  It’s a fantastic opportunity for ego death – for letting go of more ideas, opinions and preferences and being grateful for what is available in the moment.  Patience then, becomes a foundation for peace and enjoyment.

6.) Love does not need to “be understood.”

Words can really get in the way of loving.  Our obsession with understanding and being understood is often the biggest block to simply sharing love.  I’ve been recognizing that I generally enter into relating with a perceived need to “be understood” as a prerequisite to that relationship working.  And, that what I really mean by this is that I want to have my worldview and my private inner world affirmed.  I’m realizing that this perceived need is more a function of insecurity than of love and loving.  If I am secure and grounded in myself, sharing is easy.  And, I don’t project an imagined need to be affirmed into the space of the relationship.  I mean, really…. It’s not the responsibility of my friends to understand all my little distinctions and the specific details of my perceptions.  This is just a projection of my ego desire not to feel alone.  Understanding can come in the silence, in the patience and in the gestures.  It really isn’t necessary to “be understood” in order to love and be loved.

7.) Love acts/responds.

It’s the little things.  Every mother in the world is overworked.  Everybody appreciates getting a little shoulder rub, or having a cup of coffee poured.  Every person in the world appreciates a humble bit of help.  Whether you speak the language or not, you can clean the kitchen, do the laundry, hold the baby, fold the towels or give an old man a ride down the hill.  Love is a poetry of action.

8.) Love let’s go.

“If you love someone, set them free.”  When travelling, we often love more freely and fully when we know that the connection is temporary.  We’ve all had that experience – the fierce, beautiful and fleeting love that will not last but that fills us with memories to last a lifetime.  This, in and of itself, is delicious.  But, the grace here is the capacity to hold lightly and wholly the object of our love.  If I can translate this to ALL of my relationships – to hold and to let go, to pour myself into the precious moment and hold the outcomes loosely – then I can really love!

The Extraordinary Eclipses and the Grand Cross

Here is some more perspective on what is happening right now.  I will write later tonight to fill in my perspective.

Stay grounded and do your work.  Meet the disenfranchised, resigned and furious parts of your own psyche with a steady hand and a kind heart.  Meet your cynicism with dissolving love.  The part(s) of you that want to say “f… it” might be very strong right now.   Meet them and MOVE THROUGH.   IT REALLY MATTERS.

Love,

The Extraordinary Eclipses of the Grand Cross

Archangel Metatron via James Tyberonn

Greetings Dear Ones, I am Metatron, Lord of Light. I greet you all in Unconditional Love, indeed a love that you will need over the next few weeks!

You are entering of one of the most powerful and intense energy crucibles experienced on the planet in many millennia, and the relative ‘temperature’ is about to drastically increase. It is the Diamond Triad, and is the purpose behind the encouraging ‘OM Wave’ that the Cosmic Council of Light have graced you with.

There are three very significant astro9logical occurrences over the next five weeks (June 26-August 4). These are:

· The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse  -June 26

· The Solar Eclipse of July 11

· The 5 Planet Alignment of July – The Grand Cross

The June 26 eclipse of the full moon is extraordinarily powerful and will set the stage. Indeed this full moon eclipse is a double edged sword and can be the impetus of great change to the positive, if correctly understood and utilized accordingly.  Or its intensity can rupture your auric field and set you in a downward spiral. It is up to you, depending on if you react in impatience and emotion or if you wisely utilize this resonance for creativity and inward cleanse.

As is the case of all crucibles, it will use intense heat to purify.

We tell you that the recent solstice and the impending Diamond Triad of the Grand Cross are among the most powerful energies felt on the planet for millennia, and many of your savant astrologers have recognized this….and so must the wise among humanity. Indeed the 5 planet configuration and associated angles represent an extremely rare and extraordinarily unique frequency that can offer a template of magnanimous change, yet within a resonance that can also be quite chaotic.

It is well during this time to carefully consider your actions. Be cautious in your demeanor, and take extra efforts to maintain the integrity of your auric field. Think before you speak, and do not allow untoward emotion; that of anger, envy, depression, guilt or doubt to invade your energy. It will be easy to mismanage both communications and emotions in this crucible, and the results could be quite detrimental to relationships and state of mind. Better to use this cutting energy to go inward, and review for hidden habitudes and obstacles that may yet lurk within. There is no better time to release these. And Dear Ones, almost all of you still have cleansings yet to perform. More often than not in duality, those that do not recognize the tarrying residues of negative traits are the ones most needful of the search, including those of you on the spiritual path. Spiritual ego can especially be cleansed, if dutifully examined, in this crucible.

You see, the obstacles that were easily seen, for most of you seekers, have been dealt with. What now remains are the residual ones your ego’s have quietly swept under the carpet, and hidden in the darkness in deeply imbedded boxes.

But do not be discouraged, and do not feel we are judging you, for all of you will indeed Ascend, sooner or later. But there is a grand opportunity within this crucible to find what is hidden, and perform the needful purge. That that is in shadow will be revealed in this time, and that which could not easily be seen in other sojourns, in other phases of the ‘present’ lifetime, will be visible if such self- search is truly desired and diligently executed. And Masters, while such an examination will require courage and humility, the rewards are great. For indeed the eclipses and Grand Cross affords you the opportunity to pass through an important doorway, into a higher and more pristine version of true self.

So we urge you to seek the hidden obstacles and confront and release them on the lunar eclipse. We further and emphatically recommend you to meditate intensely on the attributes you desire to achieve on the solar eclipse., for indeed the ability to be creative in the phase of the solar eclipse is amplified as well. A perfect time for resolve and surprisingly for artistic expression, or manifestation of desire.

Utilize the interim phase between the eclipses then to decide who you truly are. What are you here to do, what will you do with the years of this sojourn you have remaining. You see Masters, the energy of the period you are entering, offers you the ability to enter a state of profound ‘Beingness’. A state beyond the mind, an energy beyond that you term thought. And for many of you, Beingness is a state that you have not truly engaged; such is the control you have given the inner narrator. In a true sense the Diamond Triad offers those of you who can silence the mind, the opportunity to more easily enter the solemn vibration of still wisdom, of ‘mindless’ Beingness, and truly Masters, it is a state far higher in frequency that that of mindfulness. Does that confuse you?  We tell you that there is an identity of your Divinity that is above the mind, and it is an aspect of your soul, and is far closer to your true Beingness. Indeed mind is simply a companion of your Beingness relative to the 3rd dimension, and we beckon you to explore this aspect more deeply in the following 4-5 weeks, for many doorways are opening. You are capable of investing your Beingness in a higher level of engagement during this time, and while this may surprise you, your mind invites this opportunity, in all its aspects of creativity, for it knows that there is a level above it that is quite necessary for your evolvement into higher dimension.

The Diamond Triad, the Grand Cross and Eclipses are the pathway to the 10-10-10 in this your year of 2010, use this time well, and you will make a quantum leap.

As we have said, what lies before you is a difficult energy for you to master, but it can indeed be experienced and great gain is possible. The Cosmic Council of Light has sent a wave of energy over the past days, that has been termed the ‘OM Wave’. Tap into this energy, and it will serve you well as you navigate the next 5 weeks.

Dear ones, keep ever in mind, this energy is extremely intense, and is quite capable of throwing you off center, if you do not maintain your guard. It is the Diamond Triad, and can serve you well and offer a quantum leap if you consciously utilize this energy and retain Auric Integrity.

Be calm, be patient, be creative , be wise, and nurture yourselves and one another.

I am Metatron and I share with you these Truths.

And so it is….

Love.  In the time of apocalypse.  Unpacked from its latin roots, apocalypse means revelation: the great turning, revealed in the death of all that we have ever known.  Am I ready?  Are we ready.  I am reminded of the stark words of a long ago friend: “all we can do is love it.”  Love in the time of apocalypse is beyond reason, beyond hoping, a choice of faith beyond reason.  let go.  fly.
